Choose the wood style and the number of subjects carefully before you hit the "Add To Cart" button.

Subjects may be a combination of people and pets. The portraits are woodburned from a photograph you must either email to me or send by Postal mail. Photos received by Post will be returned to you. Please choose a clear and well-defined photo. It is very difficult to do a good portrait if I can't see the details. You may want to email the photo to me before you purchase the portrait. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. If you want more than 5 subjects, email me for a quote. The completion of your portrait will take UP TO 6 months. You must order early for birthdays and Christmas.

Sample - Pyrography Portrait Basswood Routed Edge 10 1/2 x 8 1/2 Oblong One or Two Subjects (Two subjects shown)

Basswood is also a very light wood with very little grain pattern.  These (oblong and oval) styles have been laminated, however, so there will be some light and darker colors of the wood.  You can barely see it on this sample with full background.  It is more clear to see on the Oval sample.  I have not had any complaints about this.

Some photos I receive simply call for the background to be included, like this one.  I could have done the portrait with just the woman and her dog.  Most portraits will be done with just the face and upper body as in the Oval sample.  You can emai me if you have a choice.

The fancy routed edge is about 1 1/4 inchs.  That makes the actual portrait  8 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch size.  The routed edge is fully woodburned which gives it kind of a tortois shell look and, of course, compliments the monochrome of the portrait.

Basswood is also a very light wood with very little grain pattern.  These (oblong and oval) styles have been laminated, however, so there will be some light and darker colors of the wood.  You can barely see it on the sample with full background.  It is more clear to see on the Oval sample.  I have not had any complaints about this.

Sample - Pyrography Portrait on a medium size Basswood Bark Round One or Two subjects

$100.00 plus shipping

A medium sized bark round is approximately 7 X 9 inches including the bark.  The size varies with an inch or so because every tree limb is a little different.  Being cut from a tree, there is almost always a dark spot near the center of the round ( you can see it here on the man's shoulder).  Plus there might be other very small spots in the wood.  It's inescapable.  I choose the rounds with the least spot but if you can't tolerate this please order a different wood style.

That said, the bark rounds are really popular and look great on the wall.  Medium is the only size availabe for portraits.

Basswood is a light, creamy color with little or no graid markings.  Please read the ordering instructions at the top of the page.
